Fitness means something different to everyone, and we're here to help you find and achieve your personal fitness goals. We have experience in Swimming, Biking, Running, Weight Training, and Yoga. So whether you are a beginner looking to do your first 5k, looking to shed a few pounds, or an experienced triathlete looking for your first Half or Full Iron distance Triathlon, we can help with training plans and 1-on-1 training options.
There is so much conflicting information in the world today about "good" nutrition. The one thing that is definitely true is that you can't out train a bad diet. We are whole food plant based advocates, who believe that food is fuel. Healthy food doesn't have to be boring! We offer a variety of healthy recipe ideas that taste great. We can guide you in basic nutrition needs, pre and post workout nutrition, and race day fueling.
Henry Ford said "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right". Mental fitness is often overlooked in training and is just as important as your daily workouts. Using techniques such as meditation, visualization, and being present is an important part of both fitness and life.
After running track in High School I stayed active in my 20's and 30's by weight lifting, playing softball, and chasing around my son. Then in my 40's I found distance running and eventually Triathlon. I quickly figured out that I found my passion. With a strong competitive nature I strived to become a better athlete. While looking for that competitive edge I found Plant Based nutrition and Meditation.
I have competed in races from 5k to Ironman but really enjoy Off-Road and Half Iron distance triathlons. I currently hold the following Certifications: USAT Level 1 Triathlon Coach, RRCA Level 1 Running Coach, and Slowtwitch Triathlon Swim Coach. My passion is to help other athletes with the love of Triathlon and Running reach their goals and fullest potential.
I have been interested in good health for nearly all my life. I've spent over 20 years exercising and striving to eat "healthy". Several years ago I came to learn that the healthiest diet we can follow is a whole foods plant based diet.
In addition to much research on my own, I have completed the T. Colin Campbell certification program in Plant Based Nutrition through eCornell University.
I have been a certified personal trainer, through ACE (American Council on Exercise), since 2003. I am an avid recreational runner and also enjoy teaching spinning, PiYo, and power yoga.
